Keystone was founded in 1989 to provide reasonably priced accommodation in Winchester for people who need somewhere to live. There is a great need for simple affordable accommodation for single people who are trying to get their lives back together after having passed through bad times brought about by marriage break up, alcohol or drug problems etc. The accommodation we provide is temporary and is intended to be a stepping stone to finding a permanent home.

Our full name is "Keystone - Winchester Churches Housing Group Ltd" but we tend to be known simply as Keystone. We are a part of the same group as the Winchester Night Shelter. Howard Sharp is currently Chairman of the Group.

The running costs of the project are more or less covered by the rent paid by the residents. Improvements and staffing costs are covered by Local Churches, and many individuals. We also receive a grant from Winchester City Council.

There are five houses in various parts of Central Winchester which together offer 26 Bedsits. Anyone can apply so long as they are over 18 and in need of a room.
